Gary Owen (born July 26, 1974) is an American actor and stand-up comedian. After being named “Funniest Serviceman In America,” his big break came in 1997 on Black Entertainment Television’s stand-up showcase Comic View. Owen followed this debut with featured roles in the films Daddy Day Care, Little Man, and College. He has cultivated a very large African-American following after headlining on cable channel BET and performing at targeted events, such as Shaquille O’Neal’s All-Star Comedy Jam Tour.[1] He has an upcoming TV show on BET called The Gary Owen Show
Energy and honesty have made Gary into one of the most popular touring comics in America. He’s also a crossover act unlike any you’ve ever seen – he was the first Caucasian to star in a BET show, and he once won the title of “Funniest Black Comic in San Diego.” Gary is no stranger to concert halls, but this summer he’s coming back for another run at the DC Improv – so take advantage of this opportunity to get up close with a comedy superstar.
